With a commitment to conserving all natural features of the Deschutes River corridor, the rock bluff along it, and all trees on the building site, the design of this 3,700 sf two-story family home evolved. Careful considerations were made to minimize impacts on neighbors to the north and Columbia Park to the south, while also maximizing views of the river from most spaces-indoors and out. A commitment to using PV power early in the project also helped determine the roof form and location. Materials for the exterior of the home include natural wood siding, concrete, glass, and standing seam metal roofs.
Features of this 4-bedroom home include an open-plan Kitchen/Dining/Lounge area that flows to a multi-level patio with covered outdoor Kitchen/Dining area that overlooks the Deschutes River. A multi-purpose family game room also connects to the patio and built-in spa areas. Bedrooms include a main floor guest suite with river-view patio; master suite with den and balcony overlooking the river; and 2 additional en-suite bedrooms.
